Importing custom images is a great way to make your game stand out. Imported images can be Pixart Sprites or Raw images and can be used by the User Interface Node and Pixart Controller Node to display the image in your game.
When uploading an image you have the option to upload it as a Pixart Sprite or as a Raw image.
Pixart Sprites reduce the image to 16 colors resulting in a much lower file size for each image, great for keeping your games file size down. They can also be edited in the Pixart Editor after upload. Uploading as Pixart is the default, if you do not select the Raw toggle your image will be converted to a Pixart Sprite.
Raw images retain their colors and detail but come with a much larger file size. Raw images cannot be edited after upload. To upload an image as Raw select the toggle during the upload process. When uploading a Raw image you also have the additional option for a High Quality Resize which keeps even more of your images detail and resolution but results in an even higher file size.
This will most commonly be used to import sprite sheets that include all the frames of an aminated sprite.
To Slice an image select the Slice toggle after selecting your image and set the number of rows & columns the image includes.
