The Blocky Game Jam has come to and end and we have found our winners! As huge fans of all things blocky, we couldn’t resist hosting our own jam to celebrate the Minecraft movie that just hit theaters, and has inspired us for years.
Over 100 HypeHype creators took part in the jam, making everything from crazy racers to epic adventures - and now we’re revealing the winners who were awarded with glory, fame and prizes!

¶ Judging
The HypeHype team will judge the games based on:
- Visuals, presentation and use of "blocky" aesthetics.
- Overall gameplay, design & fun factor (how does it feel).
- Social and or multiplayer features (playing with friends).
- Originality (if game is remixed, comparison to the parent game).
- Creators’ Choice winner is selected by the jam community. Each participant will have 1 vote to give. We'll contact all participants with instructions when voting period starts.
¶ Prizes
All participants will receive 100 HypeCash. We’re also offering both HypeHype Teams' Choice and Creators’ Choice awards for top games:

¶ What is Remixing?
Remixing in HypeHype is the process of taking an existing game or template and modifying it to create something new. This allows creators to quickly build upon existing work instead of starting from scratch. Remixing is a key feature of HypeHype, enabling collaboration and iteration within the game creator community.
In essence, Remixing is about getting there faster and smarter, not cloning 😃

- Sprunki RP World - RP-focused social hangout.
- Glass Bridge To Richies - Social Hangout with common goal.
- Rock Tycoon Idle - Mining experience with ghosts complement the jam theme.
- Risky Road - Block-building driving game with ghosts. See people building their cars - social hangout element.
- Build Everything - Build structures together with synchronized blocks between players.
¶ Examples of Good Remixes
- Hot Wheels Trials - Remixed from Trials Obby.
Heavily inspired by the original but brings something new.
- Squid Game and Run 'N' Rumble - Remixed from Just Run.
Great examples of remixes that really change the overall feeling of the base game, not just the models.
- Hypehaven RP and War City - Remixed from Block City.
Took the base game as a foundation and expanded with more content, destructibles, IAPs and additional systems.
¶ Examples of Games with Block Building Mechanics
- Build Everything
Ghost multiplayer with synchronized building mechanics. Blocks that disappear after time.
- Build a Boat for Treasure
Advanced block placing mechanics with rotation system.
- BLOCKMANIA
Nice “trail-building” mechanic where you press the build button once and blocks start spawning behind you.
- Block Party
Classic block placement and also includes inventory mechanics.
- Domino with Friends and Ride Carts
Social sandboxes with very simple building mechanics and basic physics simulation.
- Millionaire Tycoon and Money Tycoon Idle
Gradual construction of large buildings through tycoon mechanics.
¶ The Blocky Game Jam Rules
- Start fresh: Begin creating your game after March 17.
- Publish on HypeHype by March 30, 21:00 UTC.
- Add #BlockyJam to your games description.
- Multiple entries are allowed, but only one prize per creator/team.
- Remixes are allowed but must be significantly different from the original.
- Must follow HypeHype Community Guidelines.
Please Note: Games that fail to adhere to the rules will be disqualified.
